Gabriel Davis is a Junior Agent with Loretta Barrett Books, Inc. While his interests span a wide variety of fiction and non-fiction, he is especially intrigued by new voices with a unique perspective or understanding of their subject matter. Whether it be cultural commentary, pop-psychology, memoir, narrative history, natural history, or sports (especially outdoor/adventure), he is looking for books that take a readerly approach as they inform. In terms of fiction, he is drawn to both commercial and literary works, as long as the characters are well drawn and the emphasis, first and foremost, is on telling a good story.
Prior to joining Loretta Barrett Books, Inc. in 2004, Gabriel worked in film/video production and got his first taste of publishing with the Ned Leavitt Agency in SoHo. He is a graduate of Middlebury College, where he managed to tear himself away from the Green Mountains of Vermont long enough to earn a Bachelor of Arts in English.
